To find the best credit cards for travel, we began with a pool of over 400 credit cards and narrowed it down to 140 options that earn points or miles redeemable for travel. We then categorized these cards into three distinct groups—flexible rewards cards, airline cards and hotel cards. Using public data and personal experience, our credit card experts assigned a valuation to each card’s rewards currency to estimate its potential value and pinpoint the top options in each category.
